The
organization's core certification management system
resided on an HP/UX system with limited tools for
letter generation and data analysis
-
Organization wished to provide end users with the
ability to access the HP/UX system from Windows
desktop PCs and leverage MS Office tools for data
analysis without compromising system security on the
HP/UX platform
-
Users
also wanted to eliminate the terminal device and use
the Windows PC to access the HP environment
-
I researched inter-platform gateway products that
provided Windows systems with the ability to map
drives to HP/UX data sets and support securing the
HP/UX resources in Windows Active Directory
-
I implemented the gateway and configured to permit
seamless access to data from the HP system
-
After selecting a terminal emulator product
on the Windows systems to replace the dedicated
terminals, I implemented it on all desktops
