-
Government contractor specializing in software
development and records management was in the SBA
8(a) program around 1984.
-
I told
my superior of the success I was having selling PCs
out of my garage and together we proposed that the
firm sell PCs and networks to the firm's government
customers. The president agreed and Micro Computer
Concepts (MC2) was formed.
-
I was
the technical lead for the firm - CTO in today's
titles.
-
I
selected products for sale, selected manufacturers
to represent, and worked with my superiors to
negotiate supplier contracts with our major vendors:
Columbia Data Products and Ericsson USA.
-
We won
the exclusive GSA Schedule 70 contract for all of
Ericsson's PC products for the US. This put us in a
position of getting a "piece of the action" for any
Ericsson equipment sold to the US Government by any
reseller.
-
I
designed a number of large network configurations
for RFP responses using the above manufacturers plus
Novell and Orchid PC Net products.
-
The
firm never reached critical mass and when Ericsson
pulled out of the PC business in the US, the
division was closed.
